October is many people’s favorite month of the year. The leaves have changed color, the weather is cooler, and Halloween festivities are right around the corner. On top of all that autumn goodness, October is also breast cancer awareness month!
According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands of women each year and affecting countries at all levels of modernization. In fact, 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. These statistics are alarming, which is why it’s important to spread awareness not only in October, but all year round!
